The third week of July found us once again in Bloodvein, Miskooseepi First Nation. This was our 9th summer in Bloodvein and we had an awesome time with the kids.
Attendance was a little higher this summer; we planned for 50 children/day and averaged 49! What a great turnout. A couple of the days were HOT! The humidex was well over 40 degrees, so energy lagged a bit and many took advantage of the opportunities to swim in the Bloodvein River to cool off at night.
The Band arranged for Isabelle, Kiera, Kieren, and Ethan to be our helpers and it was great to work with them.
We appreciate so much the use of the School, the Band Hall, and the beautiful teacherages. Thanks to Ellen for arranging all of the logistics for us.
Congratulations to our Award winners: our “Campers of the Week,” Charlie & Taylor; Speedstacks champions, Kasson & Serenity; and Phoenix, our Memory Verse award winner.
