Week #2 for the summer found us in Poplar River once again. What fun we had! We had some challenges-there were 2 major power outages that affected camp. It’s difficult to cook for 85 people when you have no hydro! But Jonas handled the challenge and on Wednesday morning, when there was no hydro, we invited the children close to the school to join us and he served cold hamburgers and potato chips for breakfast around 10:30 a.m.! Good thing the burgers had already been barbecued 🙂
Anyway. . . we had a full camp every day (70 children) except for the “no hydro” day and it was amazing!
We enjoyed special banjo accompaniment in chapel time, thanks to Justin, and learned some new songs.
We enjoyed a tour of Poplar River one evening, thanks to Byron.
Former campers Shavon, Clinton, and Winston provided help for the program.
And congratulations go to our Award winners for the week: our “Campers of the Week,” Dion and Hannah; the Speedstacks champions, Autumn and Mikey, and our Memory Verse Pros, Sherman and Monique.
We loved our time with all of you.
Take care until we see you again 🙂
