It has become something that the youth look forward to for months in advance – YouthQuake at Briercrest College in Caronport, SK, and YouthQuake 2017 did not disappoint! A group of 13 youth and 4 staff traveled from Hilbre, MB to Briercrest for the weekend of February 17-19. Based on the number of times we heard “are we there yet?” during the 8 hour trip, we could tell that the youth were excited to get there and jump in to the activities of the weekend!
The theme of the weekend was “Shine Through.” We were reminded that God shines His light into even the darkest parts of our lives & the world, and were challenged to let God’s light shine through our lives! It was clear that these messages had a big impact on many of the youth with us.
Along with great messages and times of worship, our groups also enjoyed inflatable races, horseback riding, an Escape Room, lots of great concerts, a Spa Room, gym activities… and so much more! One of the greatest aspects of this weekend is the time spent in community with one-another. It is always so encouraging to watch friendships to grow year after year.
We are so thankful to Hilbre Gospel Chapel for letting our group spend the night before we headed out on our journey the next morning, and also for Whyte Ridge Baptist Church for their donation towards the cost of travel.
